Now let's discuss what will happen prior to your procedure.
Your doctor will want to discuss your medical history and any other current medical conditions you may have. Make sure you have a list of your current medications, including prescriptions and any over-the-counter medication, supplements or herbal remedies you are taking. Also, tell your doctor about any allergies you may have.
This procedure can be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis. If you are an inpatient, you will return to your hospital room following the procedure. Outpatients usually go home the same day.
For your particular situation, you will be given specific instructions as to where and when to arrive at the medical facility, how to prepare for your procedure, and what to expect the day of and the days following your procedure.
