As with any medicine, side effects are possible with NovoLog^® Mix 50/50 (insulin aspart protamine/insulin aspart). However, not everyone who takes this medicine will have problems. Possible Side Effects With NovoLog Mix 50/50

As with all

insulins, possible side effects of NovoLog Mix 50/50 include:

A skin reaction at the site of the injection
Skin thickening or pitting at the site of the injection
Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia).

Studies have shown that side effects of NovoLog Mix 50/50 are comparable to the side effects seen with NovoLog Mix 70/30 (a similar, older insulin).
