NovoLog Mix 50/50 Side Effects

An Introduction to NovoLog Mix 50/50 Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with NovoLog® Mix 50/50 (insulin aspart protamine/insulin aspart). However, not everyone who takes this medicine will have problems. As with all insulins, possible side effects of NovoLog Mix 50/50 include:
 
  • A skin reaction at the site of the injection
  • Skin thickening or pitting at the site of the injection
  • Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia).
     
Studies have shown that side effects of NovoLog Mix 50/50 are comparable to the side effects seen with NovoLog Mix 70/30 (a similar, older insulin).
