Novolin R

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much of any type of insulin may experience symptoms such as:
 
  • Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia)
  • Fainting
  • Shakiness
  • A fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Confusion
  • Sweating
  • Seizures
  • Coma
  • Loss of life.

Storage

Unopened Novolin R vials should be stored in the refrigerator. Once you start using the vials, they can be kept in the refrigerator or at room temperature (up to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Either way, they must be discarded six weeks after being opened, even if there is some insulin left.
 
Keep this insulin away from direct light or heat. Make sure to keep it out of the reach of children.
 

Strengths

Novolin R is available in 10-mL vials, with 100 units of insulin per mL.
