Metanx Side Effects
It is possible that side effects may occur while taking Metanx, but they are typically mild and do not usually require medical attention. Some of the common reactions to this supplement may include drowsiness, nausea, and headaches. However, it is not known how often these problems might occur, as this vitamin has not been thoroughly studied in clinical trials.
Just like any medicine, Metanx® can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Metanx. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list with you.)
The prescribing information for prescription medications contains the exact percentage of side effects that occurred in clinical trials. However, Metanx is a medical food and is not required to have the same detailed prescribing information. Therefore, it can be difficult to know exactly what side effects to expect and how often these reactions may occur.
Based on the possible side effects of the vitamins found in Metanx, some of the common reactions to this supplement may include:
- Tingling, pricking, or numbness of the skin
- Drowsiness
- Nausea
- Headaches
- Diarrhea
- Itching
- Feeling of swelling of the body.
