Metanx Medical Food

Metanx® is a combination vitamin product used to manage certain blood vessel problems associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. It may also be used to manage hyperhomocysteinemia (high blood homocysteine levels).

Because this vitamin provides nutritional supplementation for a medical condition that has specific nutritional needs, Metanx is considered a medical food, not a prescription medication. Medical foods do not need to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, Metanx is only available by prescription and must be used under medical supervision.
