Metanx Drug Interactions
Several drugs can cause negative interactions with Metanx, including certain antibiotics, anti-seizure medicines, and aminosalicylic acid. Some of these reactions can alter the amount of the medications in the blood, possibly making them less effective or increasing your risk for side effects. Before starting treatment with Metanx, tell your healthcare provider about any other medications, herbs, or supplements you are taking.
An Overview of Interactions With MetanxMetanx® may potentially react with a few other medications. Some of the drugs that may lead to interactions with Metanx include but are not limited to:
- Aminosalicylic acid (Paser®)
- Antibiotic medications
- Bile acid sequestrant cholesterol medications, such as:
- Colchicine (Colcrys®)
- Metformin (Glucophage®, Glucophage XR®, Glumetza®, Fortamet®, Riomet®)
- Pyrimethamine (Daraprim®).
