As with any medication, side effects are possibe with Metaglip® (glipizide and metformin), including diarrhea, low blood sugar, and an upper respiratory tract infection. Most people, however, tolerate the medication well and, in many cases, side effects are minor and easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Some Metaglip side effects are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider, such as symptoms of low or high blood sugar, signs of lactic acidosis, or chest pain.
