Who Should Not Take NPH Insulin?

You should not take NPH insulin if you:
  • Are allergic to NPH insulin, Novolin N, Humulin N, or any of the inactive components used to make these medications. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Do not have diabetes.
  • Do not have your healthcare provider's approval to take this medication.
