Inflammation can result from many things. For example, if there is a small piece of the natural lens remaining in the eye, then inflammation may occur until the body absorbs this piece. If this happens, your doctor may give you a few extra eye drops for a few weeks to control this situation.
In rare situations, the pieces of the natural lens that were left in your eye may have to be removed with another surgery.
Chronic inflammation may also result in a swelling in the back of the eye. If this occurs, your vision will be somewhat decreased. Your doctor can treat this with eye drops or with steroid injections to try to resolve this situation.
