Overdose Information

People who take too much Kombiglyze XR may have overdose symptoms that could include:
  • Low blood sugar
  • Lactic acidosis, due to the metformin component (see Metformin and Lactic Acidosis)
  • Fainting
  • Shakiness
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Confusion
  • Sweating
  • Muscle pain
  • Trouble breathing
  • Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
  • Feeling cold
  • Dizziness
  • Slow or irregular heartbeat.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Kombiglyze XR?

If you forget to take your dose, simply skip it and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.

This medication comes in the following strengths:
  • Kombiglyze XR 5 mg/500 mg -- 5 mg of saxagliptin and 500 mg of metformin
  • Kombiglyze XR 5 mg/1000 mg -- 5 mg of saxagliptin and 1000 mg of metformin
  • Kombiglyze XR 2.5 mg/1000 mg -- 2.5 mg of saxagliptin and 1000 mg of metformin.
