Glyburide Strengths

Glyburide (DiaBeta®, Glynase®, Micronase®) is a drug that is often used to treat type 2 diabetes when lifestyle changes alone are not enough. Using this prescription drug can help reduce the risk for problems associated with high blood sugar, such as heart disease and kidney failure.
Many strengths of glyburide are available. Unmicronized glyburide tablets are available in three strengths:
  • Glyburide 1.25 mg
  • Glyburide 2.5 mg
  • Glyburide 5 mg.
Micronized glyburide tablets are available in four strengths:
  • Micronized glyburide 1.5 mg
  • Micronized glyburide 3 mg
  • Micronized glyburide 4.5 mg
  • Micronized glyburide 6 mg.
Brand-name micronized glyburide (Glynase) is not available in the 4.5-mg strength.
