Glucovance Dosage for People Switching From Metformin or Glyburide
If you are switching to Glucovance from metformin or glyburide, the recommended starting dose is Glucovance 2.5 mg/500 mg twice daily with meals or Glucovance 5 mg/500 mg twice daily with meals. The starting Glucovance dosage should not be higher than the dose of metformin or glyburide you were previously taking. Your healthcare provider can slowly increase your dose if necessary, up to a total of Glucovance 20 mg/2000 mg per day.

In order to avoid an upset stomach, it is best to take Glucovance with food.
Glucovance should be taken at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level of the diabetes medication in your blood.
If you do not take your Glucovance as scheduled, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as scheduled. Do not take a double dose of Glucovance.
For Glucovance to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Glucovance will not work if you take it in a way other than how your healthcare provider prescribed it.
