Glucagon Instructions

As an injected medication, glucagon is typically given just below the skin of a buttock, arm, or thigh. Each glucagon kit comes with everything needed to prepare and administer the medication, including step-by-step instructions. After someone has been given a glucagon dose, they should wake up within 15 minutes. If they don't, give another dose and seek immediate medical attention.
The instructions also call for rolling the person on their side before they wake up. This is because people sometimes vomit when waking up after having low blood sugar, and lying flat on the back increases the risk of inhaling the vomit.
