Duetact Drug Interactions

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Taking Duetact with NSAIDs can increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). You may need to be monitored more closely, and your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Duetact dose, especially when starting or stopping an NSAID, depending on your particular situation.
 
Oral Contraceptives
If Duetact is taken with oral contraceptives (birth control pills), this can make Duetact less effective, increasing your chance of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). You may need to be monitored more closely, and your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Duetact dose, especially when starting or stopping an oral contraceptive.
 
Phenothiazines
Taking Duetact with phenothiazines can make Duetact less effective, increasing your chance of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). You may need to be monitored more closely, and your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Duetact dose, especially when starting or stopping a phenothiazine.
 
Rifampin or Rifapentine
Taking Duetact with either rifampin or rifapentine can decrease the level of Duetact in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and/or adjust your dose of these medications, depending on your particular situation.
 
Ritonavir
Combining Duetact with ritonavir can increase the level of Duetact in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of Duetact to prevent this interaction from occurring.
 
Thyroid Medications
Taking Duetact with thyroid medications can make Duetact less effective, increasing your chance of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). You may need to be monitored more closely, and your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Duetact dose, especially when starting or stopping a thyroid medication.
