Many people have heard of the term "diabetes," but what is diabetes exactly? Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when glucose levels in the blood are too high. There are three types of this condition: type 2 diabetes (the most common kind), type 1 diabetes, and gestational diabetes. Symptoms of diabetes may include fatigue, frequent urination, or blurred vision. If left untreated, the high blood glucose levels caused by diabetes can lead to damage in the nerves, kidneys, and eyes.
