NovoLog 70/30 Pen Information
NovoLog® Mix 70/30 (insulin aspart protamine/insulin aspart) is a combination drug used in the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It contains insulin aspart (a rapid-acting insulin) and insulin aspart protamine (an intermediate-acting insulin). Generally, this medication is taken twice a day, with each dose covering two meals or a meal and a snack.
NovoLog Mix 70/30 is sold in the form of vials and FlexPen® pen injection devices. To use the pen devices, you will need specific types of needles known as "pen needles." Each time you inject this drug, a new needle must be used. If you are using the medication from the vial, you will need to use insulin syringes with needles.
It's important to review this drug's safety information with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. NovoLog Mix 70/30 may not be suitable for everyone, so make sure your healthcare provider is aware if you have any other medical conditions (such as problems with your liver) or if you are taking any other types of medicine, including nonprescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
