List of Oral Diabetic Medication

Oral diabetes medications are used in the treatment of
 type 2 diabetes. Medicines within this category fall within one of several classes, including:
 
  • Biguanides
  • Meglitinides
  • Sulfonylureas
  • Thiazolidinediones
  • Alpha glucosidase inhibitors
  • Dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitors
  • Combination medications.
      
Biguanides
Metformin (Glucophage®, Glucophage XR®, Glumetza™, Riomet®, Fortamet®) is the only biguanide medication currently available.
