Kazano Medication Information

When used for treating type 2 diabetes, Kazano® (alogliptin and metformin) works to regulate blood sugar levels by increasing the amount of insulin made in response to meals and reducing the amount of glucose made by the liver. This prescription combination medicine is approved for use in adults only.

Kazano comes as a tablet that is taken twice daily. Although most people who use this medication will not experience problems, side effects are possible and include diarrhea, a sore throat, and headaches.

Although Kazano may help in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, not everyone can use this medication. Information on safety precautions should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize your risk for certain complications. For instance, people who have kidney or liver disease may not be able to safely use this medicine.
