Causes of Diabetes Insipidus

Gestational Diabetes Insipidus Causes

This is another rare form of diabetes insipidus that occurs only during pregnancy. The causes of gestational diabetes insipidus stem from an enzyme made by the placenta that destroys ADH in the mother. The placenta is the system of blood vessels and other tissue that develops with the fetus. It allows the exchange of nutrients and waste products between the mother and the fetus.
