Who Should Not Take Darbepoetin Alfa?

You should not take darbepoetin alfa if you:
 
  • Are allergic to darbepoetin alfa, Aranesp, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have uncontrolled (untreated) high blood pressure.
