Specific Cycloset Warnings and Precautions
Warnings and precautions to be aware of prior to taking this product include the following:
- Cycloset can cause low blood pressure, especially when standing suddenly. This can cause lightheadedness, dizziness, or even fainting. Be sure to stand up slowly, especially when you first start taking this medication.
- This medicine can worsen psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia). In general, Cycloset is not recommended for people with severe psychiatric disorders.
- Cycloset can cause significant drowsiness. Be sure to see how the medication affects you before driving or operating heavy machinery.
- Cycloset can potentially interact with several medications (see Cycloset Drug Interactions).
- Cycloset is usually considered a pregnancy Category B medication. This means that it is probably safe for use during pregnancy, although the benefits may not outweigh the risks in many cases (see Cycloset and Pregnancy).
- Women should not take Cycloset while breastfeeding. Therefore, if you are breastfeeding or plan to start, discuss this with your healthcare provider prior to taking the drug (see Cycloset and Breastfeeding).
