Byetta® (exenatide) is a medication approved to treat type 2 diabetes. It comes in injection form and is generally given twice a day before the two main meals. Side effects of the medicine may include headache, diarrhea, and vomiting. Byetta should only be used in combination with certain oral diabetes drugs.
