If you have type 2 diabetes, your healthcare provider may prescribe Byetta® (exenatide) to help control your blood sugar levels. It works by increasing the insulin production in response to meals and by decreasing the amount of sugar produced by the liver.
There are some potential side effects with Byetta, including diarrhea, dizziness, and nausea. The drug comes in an injection form and is taken twice daily. In order for Byetta to work properly, you must take it as prescribed.
