Type 1 Diabetes and Avandia: Final Thoughts

Avandia alone is not effective for type 1 diabetes. People with this condition who are not insulin-resistant should not take this medication. However, Avandia may have a use for people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes (double diabetes), although it is not approved for this use.
