Avandamet® is a prescription medicine that is used to treat type 2 diabetes. The combination drug is composed of rosiglitazone and metformin, two diabetes drugs that can help reduce and control blood sugar levels by decreasing sugar absorption into the body and improving insulin sensitivity. Avandamet comes in the form of a tablet and is available in several strengths, each with various amounts of metformin and rosiglitazone components. Possible side effects of Avandamet may include headache, heartburn, and diarrhea.
