Actos Dangers

Although most people tolerate Actos® (pioglitazone hydrochloride) well, it is not free of dangerous risks. Before starting treatment, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you may have and any other medications you are taking (including nonprescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements).

Other Actos warnings apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies. Also, you may not be able to take Actos if you have certain medical conditions, such as heart problems, liver problems, or an upcoming surgery.
