Actos and Type 1 Diabetes: Summary

Actos alone is not effective for treating type 1 diabetes. The drug should not be used in people with type 1 diabetes who are not insulin resistant. However, Actos may have a use for people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes (double diabetes), although it is currently not approved for this use.
