Actoplus Met® is often prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes in adults. The medication contains a combination of pioglitazone and metformin: two diabetes medicines that can help improve insulin sensitivity and decrease the amount of sugar absorbed into the body. Possible side effects of Actoplus Met include fluid retention, upper respiratory tract infections, and weight gain. The drug comes in tablet form and should be taken at the same time each day to maintain even levels in your blood.
